Women's conference receives Target grant

Fort Hays State University recently announced it has received a $5,000 grant from Target® in recognition of its efforts in women's development. This grant will be used for the Kansas Women's Leadership Conference to be held on March 27 at the Fox Pavilion in Hays. Funds will benefit the conference in the areas of speaker fees, student scholarships and community service project expenses.

"Though we always appreciate corporate sponsorships, we are particularly thankful to Target in this difficult economic year for understanding the importance of this leadership development opportunity for the women of Kansas," said Christie Brungardt '01, conference administrator and FHSU instructor of leadership studies.

The Target Campus Grant Program provides financial support to schools for programs that develop and influence future business and community leaders. Target is a regular presence at FHSU, recruiting promising students for internships as well as full-time career opportunities.

With its strong values, dynamic culture and commitment to team member development, Target continues to seek and attract the best talent. Since opening its first store in 1962, Target has partnered with nonprofit organizations, guests and team members to help meet community needs.
