NASA, FHSU to hold free workshop for youth leaders

Angelo Casaburri, an aerospace education specialist with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, will teach a free, informal science education workshop on Friday, Jan. 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Fort Hays State University's Sternberg Museum of Natural History.

The workshop is sponsored by the university's Science and Mathematics Education Institute in cooperation with the FHSU Department of Teacher Education and is in support of the Year of Science 2009 initiative. This hands-on program, designed for adult leaders in youth organizations, will deal with rockets and kites using educational materials provided by NASA. Participants will take away ideas and materials that can be used with the youth in their organizations.

For questions or pre-registration, send an e-mail to Dr. Paul Adams at or call (785) 628-4538. Pre-registration is preferred, as there is a space limit of 40.
