Fort Hays State University's agriculture students attended a recent beef stocker conference in Manhattan.
"The students were able to learn the current topics and up-to-date information from leaders in the industry," said Dr. Brittany Howell, associate professor of agriculture.
Students were encouraged to attend the one-day conference as part of their feedlot management and beef techniques and technology courses.
The conference featured various talks about beef stocker cattle, centering on topics such as pre-conditioning, legal considerations, animal traceability and antibiotics.
