Fort Hays State University will recognize 56 employees for their years of service, including one 50-year employee, at the 21st annual Holiday and Awards Ceremony at 3:30 pm on Friday, Dec. 12, in the Memorial Union.
Dr. Bill Daley, professor of advanced education programs, will be recognized for 50 years of service. Daley received his Bachelor of Science in chemistry and mathematics in 1951 at the University of North Alabama. In 1956, he received his Master of Education from the University of Texas, Austin; and in 1959, he received his Doctor of Education from the University of Texas, Austin. Daley has been a professor at FHSU since 1958.
The university will also honor all employees who have served 10, 20, 30, and 40 years. The Alumni Association will recognize eight employees for 25 years of service. Recipients of fall faculty awards will also be recognized. And, for the second time, two Distinguished Service Awards will be given. Those winners will be made public after the ceremony.
