Daryl Davis to share his story and conduct book signing

Award-winning author and musician Daryl Davis will come to Fort Hays State University on Tuesday, Jan 27, 2009, to share his story of being a black man in close contact with the Ku Klux Klan. The presentation will be in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center in Sheridan Hall.

Davis is the author of the book “Klan-Destine Relationships” a true story of his interactions with members of the Ku Klux Klan and his work with race relations in the United States. All though he is black, he has had more contact with KKK members than most white and black non-members.

The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs said about Davis, “Mr. Davis truly does empower people to confront their prejudices and overcome their fears."

A book signing and a reception will be after the presentation.
