Heather Zerr, Ulysses junior, has been named the 2008-09 governmental relations intern for the Fort Hays State University Alumni Association.
Zerr graduated from Seward County Community College, Liberal, where she received an Associate of Arts and an Associate of Science degree. She holds memberships in Phi Theta Kappa and Kappa Beta Delta. While at SCCC, Zerr served as a member and presenter for the national qualifying Students in Free Enterprise team. She is planning a career in recreational sports management and is taking a minor in Spanish.
Zerr will work closely with the Alumni Association to help implement and maintain an effective legislative support network. Responsibilities will consist of coordinating educational workshops, facilitating meetings with legislators, engaging in legislative research, attending legislative meetings and events, and tracking important legislation that could impact higher education in Kansas, especially those issues related to FHSU.
The Alumni Association, established in 1916, is dedicated to identifying and serving the needs of more than 44,000 graduates living throughout the United States and 71 foreign countries.
