Fort Hays State University ceramic students will host a Chinese Porcelain Ornament Workshop to share their experience in Jingdezhen, China, with the community from 3:30 to 5:30 on Thursday, Nov. 20, in the ceramics lab in Rarick Hall, room 123.
The workshop is an opportunity for attendees to work with porcelain clay and create unique, personal ornament shapes decorated with the cobalt blue designs the group witnesses in China. The ornaments will be dried, bisque fired and clear glazed by the students. Completed ornaments can be picked up on Tuesday, Dec. 16, in the ceramics lab.
Images from China will be shown at the workshop as well.
The workshop cost is $10 to cover material fees. All proceeds benefit the Art Department's visiting artists program. To participate in the workshop, send notice to Linda Ganstrom, professor of art, at email@example.com.
Children age 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
