Department of Modern Languages to host Hispanic Film Festival

Fort Hays State University's Department of Modern Languages will show the first film of a monthly film series as part of the Hispanic Film Festival at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, in Albertson Hall, room 161, on the FHSU campus.

The first film, "¿Qué he hecho yo para merecer esto?" (What have I done to deserve this?), is directed by Pedro Almodóvar. Oscar Pereira, professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is an expert on Pedro Almodóvar and Spanish film and will initiate the film.

The films are part of the film-based modern language courses and will be presented monthly throughout the academic year. They will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles.

The event is sponsored by The Program for Cultural Cooperation between Spanish Ministry of Cultures and United States Universities and The FHSU Conversation with Diversity Project.
