The Fort Hays State University chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society for first-year students was recently presented with the Silver Membership Award by the national organization.
Since 2002, ALD has awarded chapters with Gold, Silver and Bronze membership awards. They are presented to schools that have shown increases in membership of 50, 25 and 10 percent. FHSU's chapter increased by 25 percent last year.
ALD is a national honor society that recognizes and encourages academic excellence among first-year students. Membership is open to full-time freshmen who earn a scholastic average of 3.5 or better at a four-year college or university.
