E-Commerce entrepreneur to speak at FHSU
09/27/2005

David Gray, a successful e-commerce entrepreneur and Fort Hays State University graduate, will tell his business success story at 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29 on the FHSU campus in Picken Hall, room 100.

Gray, who earned his FHSU degree in communication studies with an emphasis in radio and television, will also talk about the rapidly evolving world of e-commerce. FHSU students, faculty and staff as well as community members are welcome to attend.

Gray and his wife, Kristi, founded Affordable Supplements, an online nutritional supplement company aimed at athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

"The Grays initially operated the inventory out of a closet, but the business moved through several stages of growth, eventually earning annual revenues reaching millions of dollars," said Dr. Mark Bannister, chair of the Department of Information Networking and Telecommunications. "The business also included brick and mortar stores in Wichita and Olathe. The Grays recently sold the business and, at the time of sale, AffordableSupplements.com was one of the top Web sites in the world."
