Health & Human Performance professor to receive advising award

The National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) has selected Dr. Helen Miles, assistant professor of the Human Performance Department at Fort Hays State University as an Outstanding Advising Award Winner. The award is given to institutions or individual faculty members who assist in the improvement, progression and development of student academic careers.

Miles received her Ph.D. from the University of Kansas in 1999 and has taught Wellness, Life Guard Training and Instruction, Responding to Emergencies, Consumer Health Kinesiology, Water Safety Instructor, and Biomechanics at FHSU.

The award will be presented at an awards reception on Wednesday, Oct. 1, during the annual NACADA conference in Chicago. In addition to receiving that award, she will be recognized on posters and in a special awards booklet.
