Starting time for Rowan moved back to accommodate Fall Gallery Walk

The starting time for Rowan's Friday, Aug. 22, concert at the Fox Pavilion in Hays has been changed to 8 p.m.

The concert, originally scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m., was moved to 8 to 10 p.m. so that participants in the Fall Gallery Walk could also go to the concert, said Cathy Drabkin, executive director of Fort Hays State University's Western Kansas String Academy.

Rowan’s performance will be the culminating event of the WKSA's special summer program, "Celtic Tour," in which 15 string and guitar students are learning a selection of tunes from Ireland, Scotland, Brittany and Wales.

Rowan’s performance is sponsored by WKSA and is funded in part by the Kansas Arts Commission, the Fox Pavilion, Midwest Music Inc., KC Strings, Tom’s Music House and Yamaha Strings.

Tickets for the Rowan concert are $5 each and are available online at or by contacting Drabkin, at (785) 628-5363. Tickets are also available for purchase at the Fox Pavilion, Midwest Music, Coffee Rules and Northglen Antiques, all in Hays.

In addition, a $5 hamburger/brats barbeque dinner is available for separate reservation and purchase by calling the Fox at (785) 625-9508.  For additional information, contact Drabkin at or (785) 628-5363.
