Contractors can be certified on safety when the Fort Hays State University Kansas Small Business Development Center and the Kansas Department of Labor present an Occupational Safety and Health Administration seminar.
The program is for any contractor that has employees. The training will be at the Sternberg Museum of Natural History and has been broken up into two different sessions. The first is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7. It is a nine-hour session but there will be periodic breaks. The second will be from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday Nov. 8.
Once the course has been completed, employers will be qualified to give training on OSHA topics and will receive a course completion card.
Early registration is $150 through Oct. 31. Late registration is $180.
