Fort Hays State University's Science and Mathematics Education Center will host the 2008 Kansas Starbase summer camp and Fast Track Science summer camp in June.

The Starbase summer camp, for fourth- through sixth-graders, will run June 16-20 on the FHSU campus.

Team projects and experiments include Eggbert's Crashlander, model rocketry, Newton mobiles, Team Patch and global navigation.

Registration is $75 per camper, which covers project supplies and a camp T-shirt.

The Fast Track Science summer camp, for sixth- through eighth-graders, will be from June 23-27 on the FHSU campus.

"The week-long camp will help students learn and explore math and science while manipulating and racing remote control cars," said Dr. Paul Adams, director of FHSU's Science and Mathematics Education Center.

Registration is $99 per camper, which covers project supplies and a camp T-shirt.
