"Floral diagrams of William Eastman" are on display in Fort Hays State University's Sternberg Museum of Natural History, 3000 Sternberg Drive, from now until Nov. 13. The exhibit features some of the floral diagrams that Eastman made while he was at FHSU.
According to Dr. Jerry Choate, Sternberg Director, Eastman was a cowboy who came to FHSU as a student after meeting George Sternberg on a dig in Wyoming. He completed his master's degree in geology.
"He became an accomplished museum artist," said Choate.
Eastman painted many murals for the Sternberg Museum when it was located McCartney Hall.
Museum hours are 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1-7 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and youths (age 4-12) and $3 for FHSU students with ID. Admission is free for museum members and children age 3 and under. The museum is closed on Mondays.
