FHSU celebrates Civic Engagement Week

Fort Hays State University is celebrating Civic Engagement Week today until Friday, April 4.

Events include a T-shirt share, where students can receive a t-shirt with more information about how to get involved in civic engagement activities, a voter registration and a wall display in the Memorial Union.

The activity schedule:
Tuesday, April 1
Outstanding Tigers Ceremony, Tigers in Service Student Recognition at 3 p.m. in the Cody Commons of the Memorial Union.
Langston Hughes Project, presented by the Diversity Awareness Committee, Multicultural Student Coalition and the Provost Council, at 7:30 p.m. in Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center.

Wednesday, April 2
Voter registration drive from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Memorial Union.

Friday, April 4
Times Talk featuring Dr. Kate McGonigal, assistant professor of sociology, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Memorial Union's Stouffer Lounge.
Faculty and Staff Civic Engagement Recognition from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the Black and Gold Room of the Memorial Union.
Keynote Speaker Dr. Reggie Robinson, president and CEO of the Kansas Board of Regents, at 2:45 p.m. in the Memorial Union's Black and Gold Room.

FHSU Civic Engagement Week activities are sponsored by the American Democracy Project, the Center for Civic Leadership, the Center for Student Involvement, the Office of the Provost, the Office of Student Affairs, the Multicultural Student Coalition, TigerComm Club and Tigers in Service.
