Fort Hays State University was recognized with two awards for its work in periodicals and graphics design by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education at the 2008 CASE District VI regional conference on Jan. 14 in Denver, Colo.
CASE Circle of Excellence Awards recognize outstanding efforts in institutional advancement. The international awards program is open to all CASE members worldwide and provides an opportunity to showcase the most innovative, exciting, and effective programs and projects in more than 35 categories.
University Relations received a Silver Award for Excellence in Communications for periodicals in the external audience tabloid/newsletter division for its fall 2006 and spring 2007 newsletter "For Parents Only," edited by Kurt Beyers, assistant director of University Relations.
"For Parents Only" is published semi-annually for the parents of full-time, on-campus students by the Office of University Relations.
University Relations also received a Bronze Award for Excellence in Graphic Design for a series or multiple-piece project of one, two or three colors. The award was for the 2006-2007 FHSU theatre season posters, which were created by Nick Trickey, 2007 FHSU graduate from Copeland.
CASE, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is the professional organization for advancement professionals at all levels who work in alumni relations, communications, fundraising, marketing and other areas.
CASE District VI represents advancement professionals from the states of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.
