Scientist to explain the magic of Christmas
12/05/2007

The Student National Science Teachers' Association and the Fort Hays State University Science Math Center will put on the fifth annual Science of Christmas Show at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Sternberg Museum of Natural History.

The show this year features the reading of "The Polar Express" and answering the usual holiday questions about reindeer flying and Santa Claus making it around the world in just one night.

Through interactive science demonstrations, NSTA members will give an explanation of some holiday phenomena, including the new topic of "elf vision."

Dr. Paul Adams, Anschutz Professor of Education, wouldn't explain in further detail but said, "People will walk away with 'elf vision' when they leave the show."

The event is free and open to the public. For more information call (785) 628-4538.
