High school Math Relays held on Fort Hays State campus

Fort Hays State University was recently host to the 29th Math Relays. The relays were sponsored by the FHSU Mathematics and Computer Science Department.

About 470 students from 48 high schools participated.

Students competed in six areas: Using Number Sense, Trigonometry, Algebraic Manipulations, Informal Geometry and Measurement, Applications of Algebra and Arithmetic, and Calculations with Calculators.

The placing schools are listed by classification.

1A: Pawnee Heights (Rozel)-1st; Golden Plains (Selden)-2nd; Skyline (Pratt)-3rd.

2A-3A: TMP-Marian (Hays)-1st; Sacred Heart (Salina)-2nd; Ellsworth-3rd.

4A-6A: Salina South-1st; Salina Centeral-2nd; Hays-3rd.
