HAYS, KS -- Several faculty members from the Department of Nursing at Fort Hays State University have received awards, honors or offices recently.
Rebecca Sander, assistant professor of nursing, was one of only 55 recipients nationwide awarded the 2005 Oncology Nursing Society Foundation $1,000 Scholarship to attend the 2005 National Oncology Nursing Society Congress April 28-May 1, 2005 in Orlando, FL. Sander also co-wrote an oral presentation, "The 'Virtual' Clinical Evaluation Tool," to be delivered at the 16th Annual International Nurse Educators Conference in the Rockies July 21-23, 2005, in Breckenridge, CO.
Karen Trible, assistant professor of nursing, was Sander's co-author.
For that same conference, a poster presentation, "Analyzing Pediatric Patients: Electronic Concept Mapping," was prepared by Trible, Lisa Arnhold, assistant professor of nursing, and Christine Hober, assistant professor of nursing.
" Mentoring Roadmaps: Community Partnerships," another poster presentation to be delivered at the Rockies conference, was prepared by Billie Groth, associate professor of nursing, Dr. Liane Connelly, professor and interim chair of the Department of Nursing, and Hober.
Arnhold, Hober and Trible also prepared an oral presentation on "Analyzing Pediatric Patients: Electronic Concept Mapping," for the 12th Annual Pediatric Nursing Conference, scheduled for Oct. 13-14, 2005, at Akron Children's Hospital, Akron, OH.
