Guest artist Jerry Monteith exhibit on final week at FHSU

An exhibit by Illinois sculptor Jerry Monteith is in its final week at the Moss-Thorns Gallery in Rarick Hall on the Fort Hays State University campus.

The exhibit includes pieces in a variety of woods and other materials such as, jewels and others that feature such things as thermometers, brushes and light bulbs.

All of Monteith's art carries distinct titles like "Triple Bypass," "Tongues of Vipers," "Sucker" and "Blabbermouths."

The second largest work is a huge green wooden arch titled "Kneeling Gate."

The Moss-Thorns Gallery is on the first floor of Rarick Hall on the FHSU campus. Gallery hours are weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monteith's exhibition is on display until Nov. 2. The closing reception is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2. Admission is free and refreshments are provided.
