Travelogue Series to explore Hawaii

Fort Hays State University's Travelogue Series will present "A Visit to the Big Island of Hawaii" at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, in room 106 of Tomanek Hall, located on the FHSU campus.

Dr. Ronald Schott, assistant professor of geosciences, will talk about his recent trip to Hawaii. He will focus on the array of volcanic landforms and his experience at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Other topics include King Kamehameha, Ironman Triathalon, the resort coast of Kona, the famous green sand beach near Ka Lae, Akaka Falls, Volcano House, Jaggar Museum, the Volcano Observatory, and the current volcanic eruption at Pu'u O'o.

This is the third of seven Travelogue presentations for the semester.
