Several Fort Hays State University students toured the Larned State Hospital for a psychology course on Aug. 30.
"Through a cooperative effort between FHSU and the Larned State Hospital, students can get a better understanding of the different fields to go into," said Dr. Carol Patrick, associate professor of psychology. "It's so fun and interesting when the students can actually see the real life day-to-day activities that go on."
Students toured many different units from the state security program to the activity therapy unit. The class had the opportunity to listen as hospital staff members spoke about their roles as professionals and gain a better understanding of state psychiatric hospitals.
