Tigers in Service to sponsor Hurricane Katrina disaster relief

Tigers in Service, Fort Hays State University's volunteer-coordinating organization, is hosting a weekend of fundraising beginning with Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Donation Day.

Fire trucks will collect monetary donations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Wal-Mart, The Mall, Centennial Mall, both Dillon's locations, both Cerv's locations, Applebee's, Home Depot, Horseshoe and The Ottley Autoplex -- the empty lot at Vine and Eighth Street.

A free benefit concert featuring Rick Hill and Common Ground is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Hays American Legion.

All proceeds will go directly to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund specifically for Hurricane Katrina victims. For more information contact Katie Stucky at (785) 628-5537.
