Educators from more than 40 institutions will be at Fort Hays State University's Memorial Union Sept. 28-29 for the Inaugural Business and Leadership Symposium, sponsored by the Management Development Center of the university's College of Business and Leadership.
The first day is aimed specifically at the "corporate stream," said Dr. Mohamed Zainuba (pronounced zay-NOOH-ba), director of the MDC and associate professor of management and marketing.
"Although they are academic presentations, they are geared toward practitioners -- consultants, business executives, and managers," he said.
Zainuba has coordinated more than 50 presentations, grouped into 10 concurrent sessions, on such topics as leadership, pedagogy, human resources, strategic management and marketing, economics and finance, accounting and entrepreneurship.
"Presenters are enouraged to minimize how they did the research and emphasize the practical applications," said Zainuba.
The sessions are open to all and attendants may register at any time right up to the start of the symposium.
The cost is $150 for both days or $100 for Wednesday only. The cost includes food (including lunch on Thursday), materials and the reception Wednesday night at the Hays Arts Council.
All FHSU faculty and staff may register free of charge. Contact Zainuba, at (785)628-5503 for registration information.
