Livestock Judging team competes in NACTA

Fort Hays State University's Livestock Judging team recently competed in the North American Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture livestock and horse contests in Hutchinson.

"As the final contest of the 2007 spring semester, the team was consistent, placing second in all divisions of reasons, beef, swine, sheep and overall," said Kolby Burch, livestock judging coach and program specialist.

FHSU's Drew Buettner, Kearney, Neb., senior, placed third in swine and reasons and second overall; Justin Dallmann, Upland, Neb., senior, placed second in beef; and Blake Denton, West Point, Neb., senior, placed second in reasons for both livestock and horse contests.

The horse team finished third overall and second in reasons.

Also competing were Aubrea Winter, Goodland, senior; Alex Miller, Onaga, senior; Chase Frank, Scott City, senior; and Justin Lehman, Washington, senior.
