Fort Hays State University recently promoted and gave tenure to various faculty members, who will be honored at a reception on Tuesday, May 1, at 3:30 p.m. in the Stouffer Lounge of the Memorial Union.
The tenures and promotions begin with the 2008 fiscal year.
Two faculty members were granted tenure and promoted: Dr. Eric Gillock, Department of Biological Sciences, promoted from assistant professor to associate professor, and Amy Schmierbach, Department of Art, promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.
Six faculty members were promoted:
Dr. Cheryl Duffy, Department of English, from associate professor to professor.
Dr. Conchita Espino-Bravo, Department of Modern Languages, from instructor to assistant professor.
Dr. Greg Farley, Department of Biological Sciences, from associate professor to professor.
Dr. Germaine Taggart, Department of Teacher Education, from associate professor to professor.
Jennifer Wagner, Department of Allied Health, from assistant professor to associate professor.
Dr. Thomas Wiese, Department of Chemistry, from associate professor to professor.
Ten faculty members were granted tenure:
Dr. Jeffrey Burnett, assistant professor of health and human performance.
Cynthia Danner-Kuhn, instructor of technology studies.
Dr. Steven Duvall, assistant professor of psychology.
Dr. Ronald Fahey, associate professor of special education.
Dr. Daniel Kulmala, assistant professor of English.
Dr. Patricia Levy, assistant professor of sociology and social work.
Dr. Edwin Olmstead, assistant professor of chemistry.
Sally Schmidt, assistant professor of nursing.
Dr. Paul Siegrist, assistant professor of modern languages.
Dr. Gladys Swindler, assistant professor of accounting and information systems.
