Two Fort Hays State University employees received Colleague to Colleague Awards at the Summer Institute on Distance Learning and Instructional Technology from Aug. 3-4.
Colleague to Colleague is an organization intended to "facilitate the exchange of information and expertise between faculty and staff involved or interested in instructional technology, online instruction and distance learning," according to its Web site. Its membership is comprised of faculty and staff from 17 community colleges, technical colleges and universities throughout the state of Kansas.
Glen McNeil, interim chair of the Health and Human Performance Department, was honored with the Excellence in Leadership Award, given to "a person who has 'pushed the envelope' at any level in support of instructional technology."
Jodie Wear-Leiker, secretary of the Philosophy Department, was honored with the Outstanding Support Award. This award goes to "a person who has best exemplified customer service and outstanding performance in assisting instructional technology inclusion."
Also during the meeting, Dennis King, director of the Virtual College and Learning Technologies, was named vice chair of the organization.
