Presenting Ernest Hemingway at FHSU

Interpretation of Ernest Hemingway is the focus of “Rescuing Hemingway from the Critics: Reading Hemingway’s Modernism.” A presentation by Dr. Charles Peek, professor of English at the University of Nebraska-Kearney, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 7 in Rarick Hall, room 301, on the Fort Hays State University campus.

Peek received his master’s degree in philosophy and his Ph.D. in English from the University of Nebraska. He is considered an expert on Hemingway and William Faulkner. In his presentation, he reviews the writings of Hemingway and how critics perceived them and then offers alternative readings.

The event is sponsored by the Department of English, the College of Arts and Sciences and the Office of the Provost. It is free and open to the public.
