Fort Hays State University faculty and staff attending the 2007 FHSU Campus Drive kick-off will get a sneak preview of the soon-to-be-completed Robbins Alumni & Endowment Center. The campaign begins at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, with a skit, refreshments and building tours.
"Funds raised in 2007 will support student and staff scholarships, faculty research, department initiatives, athletic programs, the Sternberg of Natural History, Forsyth Library and many other things that make education exceptional at Fort Hays State University," said Cathy Van Doren, director of annual giving for the FHSU Endowment Association.
The Robbins Center, scheduled for completion in July, will serve FHSU Alumni and the university with expanded entertainment and meeting space and an art gallery and will house the offices of the FHSU Alumni and Endowment associations.
The 2007 drive is co-chaired by Mary Meier, Office of Strategic Partnerships, and Dr. Paul Adams, Anschutz Professor of Education.
"They believe every gift counts and that 100-percent participation lets others know how important FHSU is to western Kansas," said Van Doren.
Gifts to the Campus Drive will be counted until the end of the fiscal year on June 30.
