As students start looking toward graduation, they need to start making contacts in their chosen field. Fort Hays State University's Accounting Club took a step in that direction recently when 14 students traveled to Topeka to tour accounting sections in the Kansas Department of Revenue and Payless Shoes Headquarters. They also toured an accounting firm.
"A big part of the Accounting Club is looking ahead to the future," said Dr. Charles Gnizak, associate professor of accounting and information systems.
Students set up the tours themselves and, through this process and the tours, many students find their future employment, he said.
