Hays Mayor Wayne Billinger will sign Fort Hays State University's sixth annual International Education Week proclamation at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, in the east living room of McMindes Hall. A reception will follow.
A scheduling conflict forced a change in location for the signing of the IEW proclamation.
Sponsored by FHSU's International Student Union, IEW will feature an array of presentations in FHSU classes and in the Hays community and schools, including presentations on exchange programs FHSU's Forsyth Library will post national and international exchange information on a bulletin board.
This year, FHSU has 202 foreign students from 22 different countries. "The numbers are split between 81 undergrad students, 84 graduate students and 37 ESL students, FHSU's program teaching English as a Second Language," said Carol Solko-Olliff, director of international and disabled student services. "Foreign enrollment has increased this year by about 75 students and all the Turkish students along with any other foreign students able to come will be present at the signing of the proclamation."
