Fort Hays State University's Dr. Ken Trantham, assistant professor of physics, will speak about Pluto's status as a planet or non-planet at 7 p.m Friday, Oct. 27, in Tomanek Hall, room 106.
Refreshments will be served afterward in the Plymouth Schoolhouse also on the FHSU campus. The observation deck in Tomanek Hall will be open for viewing the night sky. And Trantham said, if the sky is clear, the Andromeda Galaxy, a planetary nebula, double stars and the moon can all be seen.
The presentation and the viewing are open to the public.
The observation deck in Tomanek will also be open to the public from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 8 when Mercury will pass in front of the sun.
