Fort Hays State University information networking and telecommunications media studies student Andrew Small traveled to Wichita recently to get hands-on experience at KWCH news. Mel Hanks, assistant professor of INT, traveled with Small, Hutchinson senior.

Small was able to shadow professionals in his area of interest. He was able to write, calculate the timing of shows and see how the programs are put together and run.

"In shadowing, there is a much better contact for future placement. They were very interested in our students," Hanks said.
