The Fort Hays State University Nu Zeta, International Honor Society of Nursing, is hosting its fourth annual Memory Walk at Gross Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, Oct. 21. Nu Zeta is a regional chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International and has been a chapter at FHSU since April uni1991.
Sign up for the Memorial Walk is in Stroup Hall, room 159, on the FHSU campus. Registered walkers will receive a free Nu Zeta T-shirt and a donor form.
Donors can give a lump sum or a specified amount per mile. The Hays community is welcome to attend and join in the fundraising and walking.
Nu Zeta hopes to exceed last year's donations of $1,500. The goal this year is $1,800.
"Nu Zeta takes pride in this yearly fundraising event," said Christine Hober, Nu Zeta faculty counselor and publicity chair. "We would appreciate all assistance in order to complete this fundraising event."
Participants will begin at 10 a.m. at Gate 3 of Gross Memorial Coliseum. The walk will continue until noon. Participants have the opportunity to win prizes, enjoy food and drinks and have fun with friends and the community, said Hober.
All money donated to the Memory Walk will go to the Alzheimer's Association of Central and Western Kansas. This organization helps Alzheimer's patients and their families by providing any needed care and assistance.
