Fort Hays State University's Fall Choir Concert will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22, in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center of FHSU's Sheridan Hall.
Conducted by Terry Crull, instructor of music, and accompanied by Pam McGowne, program specialist and staff accompanist, the faculty from instrumental music and students from the Wind Ensemble will accompany the choirs on various musical selections.
"This fall, the choirs are presenting selections that have accompaniments which include string, wind and percussion instruments along with the usual keyboard accompaniments from music faculty and students," said Crull.
Crull serves as the director of choral activities at FHSU. His responsibilities include conducting concert choir, Fort Hays Singers, Women's Choral and the Collegian Chorale. He also conducts the Hays Community Choir, supervises the Men's Glee Club and instructs courses in choral music education, choral conducting, general music and musical theatre.
"It will be a very interesting concert, and the combined choir music and varied instrumentalists will make it worth your time. We are honored to have the talents of our instrumental faculty and their top players accompany our choir pieces for this concert," said Crull.
Admission is free for FHSU students who present their Tiger Card, $4 for senior citizens and students over 12, and $6 for adults.
"The concert will only be about one hour and 15 minutes and will be an enjoyable concert with a variety of music selections," said Crull.
