Fourteen Fort Hays State University social work students traveled to Wichita recently for the 10th annual trip in a series that allows students to observe Wichita law enforcement officers at work.
The students were able to work one-on-one with police officers to see the type of work and people they will be working with in their chosen careers.
"Social work deals with the same kind of people that the police deal with," said Judy Caprez, director and associate director univrelof social work at FHSU. "This trip gives students a close-up experience of the types of situations they will be dealing with after they graduate."
