FHSU students perform 'Kiss Me, Kate'

The final three performances of "Kiss Me, Kate" will be presented at Fort Hays State University's Felten-Start Theatre in Malloy Hall this weekend. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 6 and 7, and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8.

"Kiss Me, Kate" is a contemorary musical version of Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew." The play is set in Ford's Theatre, Baltimore, Md., in 1948.

"We wanted to produce one musical a year that was something light and fun," said Dr. Kimberly Miller, instuctor of communication studies and director. "This play is fun. There are two gangster characters that are just hilarious."

The play runs for two-hours, 30 minutes, with a 15-minute intermission. FHSU student tickets are $8. Adult tickets are $10. Tickets are available in Malloy Hall at the box office or by calling (785) 628-5365.
