Fort Hays State University's Alumni Association has announced the selection of Mitchell Hall to serve as the community representative on the FHSU Alumni Association Board of Recognition Awards and Recognition Committee for the 2006-2007 academic year.
The committee is responsible to the board for nominating accomplished alumni and friends of the university to be recognized or honored by the association.
Hall received a bachelor of arts in political science with a minor in agriculture from FHSU in 2005. While on campus, he served as president of the Student Government Association for two years and was co-founder of the Alpha Gamma Rho (agriculture) Fraternity. He also served two years as chair of the Student Advisory Council to the Kansas Board of Regents. Upon graduation from FHSU, Hall was awarded the prestigious Torch Award recognizing his accomplishments as the outstanding student of the class of 2005.
Hall is employed as a district representative for U.S. Rep. Jerry Moran, R-Hays. He is a board member of the Ellis County Red Cross Chapter and serves as the Governmental Division campaign chair for the United Way of Ellis County. He holds memberships in Hays Young Professional Group-Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis of Hays and the FHSU Alumni Association. He lives in Ellis.
The FHSU Alumni Association, established in 1916, is dedicated to identifying and serving the needs of more than 39,000 graduates living throughout the United States and 61 foreign countries. The Board of Directors is a 25-member governing board that sets the policy and direction of the association in developing life-long relationships between the university and its alumni and friends.
