The Alumni Association at Fort Hays State University has announced the hiring of Tomi Dechant as the governmental relations intern for the 2006-2007 academic year.
Dechant, Hays junior, is majoring in political science with an emphasis in campaign management. She is well-versed in the legislative arena and campus relations and currently serves as the project coordinator for Be Heard!, a campaign focusing on student voter registration, education and mobilization. The FHSU Alumni Association, established in 1916, is dedicated to identifying and serving the needs of more than 39,000 graduates living throughout the United States and 61 foreign countries. The legislative support network is composed of alumni, students and friends of FHSU who volunteer their time to serve as advocates of Fort Hays State.
