Students will have the opportunity to get their feet in the doors of future careers at Fort Hays State University's 18th annual Career Day, Sept. 20.
Career Day, sponsored by FHSU’s Office of Career Services will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Gross Memorial Coliseum.
Students of all majors and all classes will be able to visit with approximately 70 companies to research careers and possible employment opportunities.
"This is an incredible networking opportunity for FHSU students," said Dan Rice, director of Career Services. "When students show how exceptional our university is, it becomes the first place employers look to hire."
Employers at the event will be available to talk to students throughout the day. Students may come and go at their convenience.
"Employers are coming to identify potential employees," said Rice. "Student participation determines employer satisfaction."
Students are encouraged to dress professionally and to bring their resumes.
Enterprise Rent-a-Car is this year's corporate sponsor.
Students will be eligible to register to win one of two $100 e-gift certificates, 10 $50 cash prizes, two $50 Wal-Mart gift certificates, two $25 Dillon's gift certificates and various other prizes.
The event is free and is open to all FHSU students, faculty, staff and alumni and to the public. For more information, contact the office of Career Services at (785) 628-4260 or visit the Web site at www.fhsu.edu/career.
