Fort Hays State University invites the public to celebrate the beginning of the 2005-2006 academic year by attending the Back-to-School Picnic on Monday, August 22, which is also the first day of classes for FHSU students. Serving will begin at 5 p.m. in the Quad and end at approximately 7 p.m.
Picnic goers will enjoy such culinary delights as barbequed beef sandwiches, baked beans, coleslaw, watermelon and brownies. The meal, prepared by Chartwells, the campus food service provider, and served by Block and Bridle, is $3.50. The meal is included in student meal plans.
This year's entertainment includes music by the Blue Healers and Wacky 3D Photos sponsored by the University Activities Board. Other activities include ladder golf, a scavenger hunt and a washer-toss sponsored by TigerWild. Student organizations and local Tiger Card merchants will have booths on the picnic grounds and will be giving away information and freebies.
Start the new school year by joining the FHSU family for an evening of food, music and fun.
