HAYS, Kan. -- Members of the public who are looking to get involved in the community are invited to the fourth annual Campus-Community Service Learning Fair on Thursday, Sept. 21, where they can meet like-minded students and faculty from Fort Hays State University.
Local non-profit and service organizations will be available to promote volunteer and service-learning opportunities available in the community.
"Communities with strong levels of individual involvement are more apt to identify and solve problems, creating a local society that is active and ever-improving," said Jill Arensdorf, instructor of leadership studies.
The event will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Memorial Union Ballroom. Parking is free and will be available in lots A-1 and A-2, west of the Union.
The Community Service Fair is sponsored by the FHSU Service Learning Committee; the Center for Civic Leadership; Tigers-In-Service, FHSU's student community service liaison; the office of the provost; and the United Way of Ellis County.
