Fort Hays State University will welcome faculty back to school, and President Edward H. Hammond will reveal his theme for the year in his State of the University speech at the annual fall General Meeting for Faculty and Administration on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center. The State of the University speech will be followed by the introduction of new FHSU faculty by the provost, Dr. Larry Gould. This will be followed by the Faculty Senate's welcome, presented by Dr. Richard Lisichenko, associate professor of geosciences and president of the Faculty Senate.
The 2006 President's Distinguished Scholar, Faculty Member of the Year and the Edmund C. Shearer Faculty Advisor of the Year will also be announced.
