Fort Hays State University's Alumni Association will host the seventh annual Harris Golf Tournament, Social and Dinner at the Liberal Country Club on Saturday, Aug. 19.
The tournament and social are dedicated to raising scholarship funding for students from southwest Kansas so they may attend FHSU. Registration and lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m., and tee-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
After the tournament, Tiger supporters and friends are invited to a social and dinner to hear the latest FHSU news from representatives of the Alumni Association, the Athletic Department and the Endowment Association. Special guests will include Dr. Norvan Harris, a 1942 FHSU graduate who received the Alumni Achievement Award in 1992 for outstanding and unselfish contributions in service to the community, state and nation. The Alumni Achievement Award is the university's highest recognition of its graduates. He will be joined at the 5:30 p.m. social by his wife, Dorothy.
The tournament registration fee of $70 includes lunch, greens fees, shared cart, social, dinner and special prize giveaways. Registration for the social and dinner only is $12.50.
