Sixty-one call teams, 567 volunteers, a five-week time span and 6,462 FHSU alumni made this year's Tiger Call Alumni Phonathon a success -- $426,083 was raised for scholarships.
" Tiger Call is the largest fundraising event for scholarships," said Cathy Van Doren, director of Annual Giving for the FHSU Endowment Association. "We would not be successful without the support of hundreds of volunteers from the FHSU family and the generosity of FHSU alumni."
This year's Tiger Call events were chaired by Dr. Tim Crowley, chair of the Department of Music, and Brenda Hoopingarner, chair of the Department of Allied Health.
On Dec. 2 the Department of Agriculture, and the accounting and chemistry clubs were recognized for outstanding team performance at the Tiger Call Scholarship celebration.
Jack Heather, FHSU emeritus professor of communication, and Anne Brungardt, Hays sophomore, won weekend get-a-ways in the grand prize drawing at the Tiger Call celebration.
