Grants facilitator for FHSU Graduate School, Docking Institute makes presentations

Leslie Z. Paige, grants facilitator for Fort Hays State University's Graduate School and the Docking Institute of Public Affairs, was invited to make several presentations at the Strengthening Our Future: Developing Healthy Children and Youth, Strong Families, and Safe Communities conference in Kansas City from April 26-28.

This national conference brought together federal grantees from three distinct programs: Safe Schools/Healthy Students, Prevention/Early Intervention, and Youth Violence Prevention Grants. The conference was sponsored by the National Center for Mental Health Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention.

Paige co-presented on three topics: "Overcoming Obstacles to Effective Safe Schools/Healthy Students Communications Campaigns"; "Crisis Planning for Schools"; and "Planning for Coalition Sustainability from Day 1."

Paige participated in a panel discussion on "Building Solutions: Health, Education, and Social Service Challenges in Rural and Frontier Communities."

She also took part in a Mental Health Policy Forum to discuss initiatives that can advance and establish as ongoing priorities prevention and early intervention programs.
