Alpha Lambda Delta announces 2004 initiates

The Fort Hays State University chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta, a national honor society for freshmen, has announced its initiates for the 2004-2005 school year. The students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or above to be selected.

Founded in the spring of 1924 at the University of Illinois, Alpha Lambda Delta is a national honor society that recognizes and encourages academic excellence among first-year students. Today, Alpha Lambda Delta more than 230 chapters throughout the nation and offers almost $100,000 in scholarships to its members.

Students who were initiated are listed below by hometown and classification.

Atwood: Byron Enfield, freshman.
Chapman: Carla Albers, sophomore.
Derby: Aimee Doose, freshman.
Dighton: Cory Triplett, freshman.
Downs: Kelley Pottberg, sophomore.
Edmond: Adam Conkey, sophomore.
Elkhart: Tara Thrall, freshman.
Gainsville, FL: Andrew Cutright, sophomore.
Garden City: Jennifer Norman, sophomore.
Great Bend: Skyler Butler, freshman, Kara Gerstenkorn, freshman, Jenna Hejny, freshman, and Tyler Manwarren, freshman.
Hays: Cord Sprague, freshman, and Amanda Wasinger, sophomore.
Jetmore: Ashley Goebel, freshman.
Lindsborg: Thomas Swift, freshman.
Linwood: Kindle Rose, freshman.
