FHSU music students perform well at singing competition

Twelve Fort Hays State University students traveled to Emporia State University on Nov. 4 and 5 to compete at the West Central Regional Competition of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.

" The students did extremely well," said Dr. James Brown, assistant professor of music. "FHSU was represented extremely well against Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado and Wyoming universities."

Jamie Geist, WaKeeney senior, Alysha Ladenburger, Pratt senior, and Heather Schnoor, Hildreth, NE, junior, made the semifinal round. Schnoor recorded a score of 99 points out of 100 in the preliminary round.

Chapman: Sam Markley, freshman.
Great Bend: Alisha Eickoff, graduate student.
Hays: Chris Colwell, senior; Theisi Gibson, sophomore; Sarah Glassman, senior; and Alexis Korbe, freshman.
Lindsborg: Laura Decker, freshman.
Lyons: Emily Cline, freshman.
Hugoton: Lindsee Wilson, senior.
