Supervising, teambuilding to be taught at KSBDC/Leadership Studies workshops

Fort Hays State University's Institute of Leadership Studies and the FHSU Kansas Small Business Development Center are sponsoring two workshops on improving workforce performance at the CPI Annex, 24th and Kansas, in Great Bend on May 7.

The first workshop, from 9-noon, is Supervisory Training. The second, Successful Teambuilding, is from 1-4 p.m.

With advance registration (by April 30) the cost is $75 for one or $100 for both. After April 30, the cost will be $90 for one or $130 for both.

Supervisory Training will cover roles of supervisor and subordinate, delegation, empowerment, leadership styles, motivating employees, resolving conflicts, communication, discipline, ethics and the ethical work climate, and resistance to change.

Successful Teambuilding covers the advantages of working in teams, characteristics of effective teams, barriers to teamwork, team cohesiveness and group thinking, conflict management, conducting effective meetings, problem solving and decision making, developing effective teams and reaching successful collaboration.
